Femtocell eh!

Anyone heard of Femtocell? What a great next step. I had to abandon my last phone due to a severe lack of signal. Now this sounds like a great next step and I want one!!!!! One of the things I love best about Communication technology is the rapid escalation and evolution of everything ICT. Maybe this means that you buy something that bombs but for the most part it is just so fascinating watching. Long may it continue.

Communicate? I would if I Could!

Mobile phone producers should make sure that what they sell is 'fit for purpose'. A standby offer of 250 hours is quite good but how about a standby of 6!! Would you buy this phone? I think not. Samsung are providing false information! I thought that I was unlucky at first, having a battery that emptied amazingly quickly. Back to the shop a month after purchase and they could not have been more helpful. A new battery was duly ordered and fitted within a few days. At this moment I decided to check out Samsung on the web. It has a dreadful reputation with lots of people saying that although the phone was stylish and good to use the battery was useless. Oh dear. My new battery was sort of ok for a few days but then I got the 6 hours standby!!!! Back to the shop...... very helpful again ..... we will send it away to be checked out.... it could be the software! or maybe the connection!! Do you have a spare phone? No? well we can provide one ....for £20!!!!! Diabolical..... So I am now phoneless. Ho Hum!

What a Day.

Long Time No Post

Well I have been so busy with my kids at work that I have had no time to post. I know, I know, Just excuses you say, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Last week there was an overnight camp at school. Would my class like to take part? Would I like to sleep in a tent at the end of a busy day? Would I like to continue working through the next day? Yes, of course, why not! Who would like to join me in this interesting experience? Oops they dissappear like a morning mist. Not really, makes my colleagues sound mean and they really did have other things arranged. However, that still leaves me with more students than I can safely look after so, after consultation, it was decided that it would be better that a few experienced the camp than none, so I invited just as many as would be safe. The evening was fun, live music, a lovely supper, a DVD to watch and, of course, a tent to get ready.

The only problem......... a severe weather warning!!!!!! Now shall we sleep in the tent or stay in school? Mmmmm what a dilemma. Are we wimps...? Not us!

No rain as we went to bed. Perhaps it won't rain after all. Is that rain I hear? A bit of rain never hurt anyone. We won't melt!

To cut a long story minimally shorter....it did rain....and thundered.....and lighteninged (is that a word).....but the children were superb... not frightened at all! R sat up and said 'I don't like thunder' but then lay down and went right back to sleep.

We would probably have lasted all night if it were not for the fact that we discovered that tents don't keep torrential rain out!!! The sleeping bags got wetter and wetter until one of them was actually wetter than water!!!!!!!!!

At this stage we decided to decamp. What a lovely word that is.

Back into school at 4.30. a.m. that is. The children managed to get back to sleep.. good somebody could!

and then all we had to do was get through Friday with the class.. zzzzzzzzzzzzz

So that was last week and now for the highlight of this one.

Up to London on Tuesday for a trip on the Eye and also a cruise on the Thames.

Most of the children loved the experience, some didnt like heights and couldn't tell us until we were up as high as we could be. At least it didnt make them agitated, just quieter and quieter and then paler and paler. The trip was amazing... I am not fond of heights myself but the views were fabulous. We could not have picked a better day as far as the weather goes. No heat haze, no rain just a lovely clear day. Half an hour later we were back on the ground and off to the boat. A forty minute mini cruise to see the sights and then back to the coach for our return trip.

What a lovely day.

As for today, well we shopped for our picnic, made our picnic, ate our picnic and then had a water fight!! and now for a lovely five weeks off. What I want to know is ....why doesnt everybody want to be teacher??

My Heroine part two!

Well I have finally finished my academic work for the weekend and I am ready to go for tomorrow. The weather has turned nasty outside and rumbles of thunder can be heard in the distance. The cats have sashayed in nonchalantly as if to say " me, worried about a bit of thunder?? Nah" but my hero, well she is trying to get under the nest of coffee tables in the corner.... never mind that its only big enough for a dog a quarter of her size.....

Also has any one notices that the least little bit of bad weather and the telly goes down.... we never had this trouble with analogue!!!!!!!!

Night night anyone out there... and a big kiss for sam as she has been accompanying me on my first blogday.... can I have a party next year on my aniversary blogday! ? !

At Last

Finally managed to sort out the massive problem of not actually being able to access or add to my blog!! Just how difficult does this stuff need to be!!!!!!!!!

Found the answer buried deep in blog groups and by following the trail deep into the bowels of stuff I would rather not know about managed to get connected. Phew!!

Just think, I actually turned on the computer about 3 hours ago to finish the work I started yesterday and need to take to work tomorrow.

Perhaps I had better get going with it!!

Well, lets see how this pans out!!!

This is my first entry into my blog though not my first blog!!!!! Not a clue what happened to that first blog but it sits there glowering at me ...but will not be moved or altered. Like some people I know!!! and so I leave it behind ---- if it doesnt want to be part of my journey so be it!

I heard a wonderful and moving song this morning by a talented song writer/ singer called Thea Gilmore... check her out if you like songs with lyrics to ponder. It actually stopped me doing what I was doing just to concentrate on her words.

Poplin was a heroine yesterday. Muffin walked in to the lounge and dropped a mouse at my feet last night. Unfortunately it wasnt dead!!! and made a dash for the safety of under the settee. Pebbles looked decidely uninterested even when I put her nose to nose with the wretched mouse which sat behind the settee considering its new souroundings. Muffin was dashing here and there but usually about 10 seconds behind where the mouse had been!! After moving the settee about to try and make it easier for the cats I decided that I wasnt helping much so left the cats to it and went to bed. Sure to find evidence of dead mouse in the morning I thought naively! No such thing. The cats were waiting for there breakfast as usual in the morning but showed no interest in the lounge. Maybe they caught it and took it out. Huh no such luck. The only one interested in the room was my heroine as mentioned before. She was very interested in the fireplace so I said (in a very go for it Voice) "what is it? Find it. and left her to....after removing all the breakables of course!! Well I came back after a while and all the cut logs were disturbed and there at her feet was a dead mouse!!! She looked up with squinty eyes as she always looks if she is not sure of her actions. Brightened up considerably when I said what a good dog she was and how stupid were the cats!!!! She got a biscuit and the mouse went into the bin!!!! My heroine!!!

Thats all for now. Hope this works!!!!
